You just can’t have a cup of coffee or tea without trying one of our cakes, tray-bakes, scones or cookies. These are home cooked daily on 49 Tower Street. If your passing 49 Tower Street glance up to the first floor & give Christine a wave as she is busy baking the goodies for the day ahead.
While enjoying a cup of coffee why not try our totally indulgent caramel shortbread (they are our best seller) or go a bit healthier with our granola bars or zuchini & walnut loaf.
Slingsby's also typically offer a gluten free home baked option - why not try a chocolate brownie or coconut & cherry slice.
Start your Day
For breakfast we recommend Slingsby’s home-made granola lovingly prepared in-house & infused with spiced orange & accompanied by yogurt & fruit compote.
Or keep it simple with a bacon buttie or a sausage sandwich using only the best quality ingredients. These are our best sellers & as the customer is always right we are sure its because they are that good.
For something more substantial at the weekend why not try our American pancakes served with maple syrup and bacon.
And for something a bit more substantial Slingsby's serves a great quality fry up ... otherwise known as the Geordie's Best.
Middle of the Day
A range of sandwiches, panini’s, baked potatoes, soups & daily specials are available.
Slingsby's offers freshly prepared home-made soups - all handed down from old family recipes. The best sellers are pea & ham, french onion with crutons while queues have been seen out the door when leek & potato is on the menu!
Slingsby's Specials menu changes on a weekly basis. Options have ranged from Turkish Eggs in a fennel & cumin infused tomato based sauce, a Club Retro Sandwich to a healthy Poached Salmon salad in a light lemon dressing. The Sausage & Carmelised Onion melt was asked for so many times it has since been added to the main menu.
Lunch is prepared to order so freshness is assured. Quality is really important to us & to support this Slingsby's have a great relationship with a range of local suppliers - Bulmers on Westmoreland Street provide our meats, Lancasters on Cold Bath Road our bread and Bellerby's in Killinghall our milk & cheeses.
